Twelve members of our Guild, who are also members of The International Guild of Handhooking Rugmakers (TIGHR) just attended, October 2018, an international gathering of rug hookers in Reeth, England. There, they mingled and learned with some of the very best rug hookers in the world. This group meets every three years and in 2021, the international rug hooking world will come to Newfoundland and Labrador. Dianne Warren and her committee will host TIGHR members from around the world and the event is open to our local rug hookers as well. You will need to become a member of TIGHR, an $80.00 fee for three years. Check out http://tighr.net/ for all the information you will need.
A Strategic Planning Meeting was held October 29-30, 2018. Guided by the results of the Survery, this meeting focused on ways to improve and build our Guild profile over the next 5 years and beyond. The Survey results have been posted on a separate page under Membership and further updates, as they become available, will be added here as well.

If you have two hands and can hold a pencil, you can learn to rug hook
Our Guild is now into its 23rd year, having been formed on Change Islands in 1995 due mostly to the efforts of a very talented rug hooker Linda Peckford who was our first Guild President.
Two Reasons for our existence
