Prerequisite:

Must have taken Punch Needle 101 or another Beginner course

Course Objectives:

In this class we will briefly review the basics of Punch Needle and take the basics to a new level. You will be introduced to some creative stitches, how to achieve dimension using the “pinch” method and different size punches, different fibers, sculpting and a finishing technique. You may not finish your project in class, but you will be well prepared to complete the project on your own.

  • Demos and practise session
  • Creative Stitches
  • Creating dimension
  • Basic sculpting
  • Comparing fibers
  • Finishing Technique
  • Steaming/ blocking
  • Oxford finish

Materials List:

Students should bring the following:

  • small pointed scissors,
  • pen/ pencil,
  • frame/hoop to accommodate a 15” x 15” foundation cloth

Kit Cost: $70

Kit includes a 9” x 9” pattern printed on rug warp, wool yarn/fibers to complete project, and one Oxford Punch Needle.
