Linda has been a rug hooker since her grandmothers taught when she was just a small child. But it was during a rug hooking class on Change Islands in 1994, offered by Elizabeth Walker, a Newfoundlander living in New Jersey, that Linda came to fully realize and appreciate the gift she’d been given.
Coupled with the teachings of her grandmothers and a Bachelor of Fine Arts under her belt, received in 2007, there’s not much in textile art that Linda hasn’t tried, conquered and is willing and able to pass on to both the experienced or the novice rug hooker.
Drawing from her experiences in drawing, painting, print making, sculpture, mixed media and installation art, Linda can help you turn strips of materials into works of art with the simple rug hooking tool.
Mix this experience with a good dose of Newfoundland and Labrador patriotism, along with an endless amount of energy, love of people and a whole lot of fun, Linda’s class is not one you’d want to miss.
